Refunds at ClickBank and Why Affiliates Should Learn to Love Them

There was a time, early in my writing and publishing career, when I came to dread people requesting refunds for whatever they had purchased from me. The fact that some used abuse or intimidation to force a fast refund made life sometimes unbearable. Now it's all so very different, thanks mainly to ClickBank!

Because I write my own products, I took it as a personal criticism of my writing ability, especially if no justifiable reason was given for wanting a refund.

Like many writers and self-publishers, it often felt like I was running an unpaid library service and, more than this, I was working with hard copy products and processing those items by conventional post. So I was actually spending big-time on posting back refunds, and paying bank charges for checks going in and out of my bank account for orders and refunds. Worse still, I was shouldering the cost of outward and incoming postage for items returned for refund.

Today, it’s all very much different, thanks mainly to firms like ClickBank and the fact that many information products are downloadable and postage free.

Money is no longer lost on banking and refunding payments because most affiliate companies, including ClickBank, take payment direct from customers and handle all the refunds.

And, best of all, the overwhelming majority of problem individuals tend to contact affiliate companies like ClickBank direct for refund, meaning fewer nasty encounters for product owners and affiliates.

But the real reason I genuinely don’t mind being asked for refunds is because refunds help me grow the value of my mailing list for future promotions, while also preventing me from wasting future time, effort and money on trouble-makers and serial refunders.

Now when someone gets nasty about my own or other people’s products or claims a refund more than once, I remove them from my mailing list right away, hopefully never to darken my door again! Once removed, I’m confident those still on my list are genuine, appreciative product buyers, not trouble-makers and freebie-seekers. These remaining people are those who receive all the free gifts and other bonus goods I regularly create to promote my own or other people’s products or to give as a thank you for supporting my work.

Selling on ClickBank really is a breeze, I recommend you give it a try, not only to make money from their splendid suite of products, but also to cut back on those less desirable elements of marketing online mentioned earlier.
