Avril Harper Recommends   SELLING ON THE RIVER: The eBay Seller's Guide to Amazon.com

Steve Lindhorst is an eBay instructor, and also an expert at selling on Amazon, and  he's spilling the beans about why eBay sellers should turn also to Amazon to sell their products, especially in light of so many recent seller-unfriendly changes at eBay.

I'm going to be honest here, I used to love selling on eBay, today I can hardly generate enthusiasm to even open my eBay account, let alone begin listing on eBay.  I am not alone, a great many other people are tiring of eBay and worried that arbitrary changes to rules and listing fees can spell a quick end to their online ventures.  Remember when eBay banned digital goods from its entire UK site and all but one tiny area of its American site?  About one week's notice was given, insufficient time for people to react whose entire income depended on selling digital products on eBay.  Literally within days, thousands of people saw all or most of their income decimated; It just wasn't fair, and there's no saying something similar won't happen again soon.

As Steve Lindhorst says, eBay used to be fun, a lot of fun, but it doesn't help to have all your business eggs in one basket, in this case eBay's basket, and it makes sense to at least spread your business across a range of selling platforms, including Amazon.  Read below what The New York Times said about eBay, or rather about Amazon, in the run up to last Christmas, and why eBay, usually THE most likely place to make your fortune over the Christmas period, was beaten from the podium by Amazon.

If any of these recent eBay changes affected your business doesn't it at least make sense to check out what Amazon can offer?

And there are MORE changes "to be announced"... how will they affect your sales? On April 4th, General Manager of eBay North America, Stephanie Tilenius, said: "expect to see bold change and faster change in the future." She also said, "by this time next year eBay.com will be unrecognizable in comparison to today."
